eHarmony 60% Off for Halloween
Published on October 31, 2014
eHarmony is having a promotion running this weekend where you can save 60% off of the 6-month subscription. This is a really big savings and normally a 20% savings is as high as I generally see on the 6-month plan.
With 60% off, the amount you’d pay in total should come out to about $107, assuming my math is correct. That’s $20 a month (more like $18 but let’s just call it $20 to make things simple). If you consider that their monthly plan currently runs at $60 per month, this is a great promotion to take advantage of: you end up getting six months for cheaper than what you’d normally pay month-by-month. And unfortunately, many of us do pay month-by-month for fear we’d spend money and then not need or want the service (I was guilty of this too). But hopefully with a promotion like this the decision is a bit easier.
Is the 60% Off Promo Replacing Free Weekends?
For the past few years, eHarmony has been rather consistent about putting free weekends around the big US holidays. Even some of the not so big ones have been getting free weekends over the last few years!
However, recently, we’ve started to see the 60% off promo around holidays instead. I’m not sure if we should expect to see the free weekends go away, but I do hope not. The 60% off is a great deal, but I worry that people need a chance to really try the service before they’d be willing to spend money on it.
That’s what I’ve always loved about the free weekends: they give you a chance to try out eHarmony’s dating service. Basically, there’s quite a few features you can’t try out unless you do one of two things:
- You subscribe
- Take advantage of a free weekend
So for many of us, getting a feel for how good eHarmony is has been tied to the free weekends. And what’s great is that this type of promotion allowed you to use what’s probably the most important and valuable part of eHarmony: the guided communication.
Time will tell, but I do hope that eHarmony continues to provide free weekends. Or, perhaps even better, I hope they continue both the free weekends as well as these discounts mixed in so there are different opportunities. But maybe that’s just me.
