September 2014: Save 50% at eHarmony
Published on September 25, 2014
eHarmony is offering a new promotion where you can get 50% off of the 6-month subscription. To take advantage of this, enter the promo code GET50OFF when signing up for the six month subscription. For many of us new to online dating, six months may sound like a long commitment. However, with a promotion like this (where the price drops to about $29.95 a month), there’s more reason to give it a try.
Lots of Promotions at eHarmony this year
I do my best to discuss every eHarmony free weekend on this website and this year there have been plenty of free weekends. You can see a full list that I maintain here and you’ll see that eHarmony has been quite generous this year. It seems like, at a minimum, every month has 5 days free. To think about that another way, eHarmony has been free to use (even if you haven’t subscribed) for somewhere between 15% and 20% of the time this year!
I think these free weekend promotions are important because they give people a real feel for what the service has to offer. Hopefully, you’ve had a chance to try the service during some of these free events. However, if you’re not very familiar with eHarmony, here are a few articles you can check out:
- My review of eHarmony as a dating service
- More details on how eHarmony works and how it’s different from other dating services
- And finally an article comparing eHarmony to Match.com
My Experience with eHarmony
I had a great experience using eHarmony when I was dating online. If you’ve read my free online dating guide, you know that the way this service works was great for a shy guy like me. It really helped me get familiar with online dating. That helped me feel MUCH more comfortable as I dated…even if I wasn’t dating online. So, if you’re brand new to online dating or just hesitant about the communication process in online dating, I think a service like eHarmony is a huge help.
When I used eHarmony, I always subscribed for just one month at a time. I guess in my mind, I was always just one month away from finding “the one”. And, again, if you’ve read my guide you know that’s not exactly how my experience went…although I did eventually find her! Still, looking back I spent a lot of money that I didn’t need to with this approach. I know it’s hard to commit because I was that guy too, but also keep in mind that if you do decide to try eHarmony but go with the month-by-month plan, at the three month mark you’ll start losing money compared to this deal.
Do what you’re most comfortable with, and sometimes that means spending a bit more money if you’re not immediately successful, but I’d encourage you to consider something a bit longer than a month. Often, I recommend that people sign up for three months on a dating service to give it a real try (too many people give up after one month which is generally not enough time). With a promo like this, it’s basically six-months of time for the three-month price so obviously it’s easy for me to recommend this.
Good luck to everyone who gives it a try!
