Australia: eHarmony Free Weekend August 1 to 5, 2014
Published on July 30, 2014
eHarmony is having a free communication weekend for those living in Australia beginning this Friday, August 1st, and running until the end of the day on Tuesday, August 5th. While I’ve talked quite a bit about eHarmony’s free weekends in the US and Canada, this is the first time I’m hearing about a free event in Australia (although I strongly suspect there have been many before this).
If the free weekends work for Australians like they do for those in the US, then you’ll see most eHarmony free events happening around national holidays. For example, in the US we saw free events this year around Labor Day, Independence Day and even Valentine’s Day. I tried to see if I could find Australian holidays happening over this time period and I didn’t see anything that jumped out to me (unless Northern Territory Picnic Day is a big holiday? Or the New South Wales Bank Holiday?)
So there’s a chance that the free weekends won’t be like the US at all and instead may be more random, which was the case for those of us in the US a few years ago. For those interested in seeing how the free weekends have gone in the US and Canada, I’ve been keeping track of these for a few years on my eHarmony free weekends page.
Other Thoughts on eHarmony Free Communication Weekends
Also, while I assume free weekends have been going on for some time in Australia, if the concept is new to you it’s worth looking at how the rules for how eHarmony free weekends work. While the weekends really are “free”, not everything you would have with a subscription is included (again, basing this of my experience with the US site).
Finally, if you’re interested in my thoughts on eHarmony in general, you can see my review of eHarmony. While I didn’t meet my wife using eHarmony, I did find it to be a very good service and particularly helpful when I was starting to date online.
eHarmony free weekends tend to occur fairly frequently which is nice. Also, if you sign up once you should get emails notifying you of future free events (this is often how I’m hearing about these events and then posting the details here). This is nice feature that eHarmony offers as you get recurring times where you can try the service out and see if anyone captures your interest.
