New eHarmony Activity Feed
Published on February 20, 2011
eHarmony has recently introduced a new activity feed which allows you to quickly see what is going on within your eHarmony account. This activity feed operates similarly to something you would expect to find in Facebook: it allows you to quickly see any updates or activities that have happened as well as tracking your recent communication exchanges.
This activity feed will be based on four different areas:
- Who’s Viewing You to see the matches that are reviewing your eHarmony profile
- Communication Events which displays recent messages you have received
- Updates to Profile text to alert you of when you can review changes to your matches profile
- Updates to Photos to alert you of when one of your matches has new photos to check out
OK…But Why Should I Care About This?
I realize this may seem like a trivial change but it isn’t and here’s why: now when you update your profile or change your photos, all of your matches are are going to be alerted. This could be a good or bad thing (depending on what you’re doing) but either way it is something you’ll want to be aware of.
This change could be a great thing because when you add photos or change your profile your matches will be alerted and if they might decide to give you another chance if for some reason they decided they didn’t want to start the communication process with you.
However, if you’re the type of person who is constantly updating tiny details of your profile to get it just right you will also want to keep this new feature in mind. Announcing that your profile has changed to all of your matches every day could have unintended results…especially if you’re not taking that this is happening into account.
