Recap of Free Dating Events for 2010
Published on January 25, 2011
There is a lot of opportunity to take advantage of free events from online dating services throughout the year. I wanted to use this article to review some of the free events that I covered in the last year to highlight the frequency of these free online dating events.
There are two services that have regular free events which I’ll be discussing: Chemistry.com and eHarmony. You can see my full list of free events that I’ve talked about (and that I’m using as a reference for this article) here.
A Review of Free Days by Month
To start, I wanted to look at the number of free days offered by each service by month of the year. I’m going to stick with the free events for the U.S. just for simplicity’s sake.
eHarmony | Chemistry.com | Total Free Days | |
---|---|---|---|
January | 3 Days | None | 3 Days |
February | 5 Days | 3 Days | 8 Days |
March | 4 Days | 3 Days | 7 Days |
April | None | 1 Day | 1 Day |
May | 3 Days | 2 Days | 5 Days |
July | 13 Days | 3 Days | 16 Days |
August | 1 Day | 3 Days | 4 Days |
September | 4 Days | None | 4 Days |
October | 10 Days | 3 Days | 13 Days |
November | 10 Days | 3 Days | 13 Days |
December | 10 Days | None | 10 Days |
Total: | 63 Days | 21 Days | 84 Days |
A couple thoughts on this information. The one great thing is that most months have a lot of opportunity to try the services out and even find some date (although April is oddly neglected).
When you look at the raw numbers, around 1 out of every 5 days in the year had an opportunity to try one of these two services.
The second thought I would like to point out is that while it might look like eHarmony is offering far more, Chemistry.com actually opens up far more features on their free events. Because of this I think things work out to be about even. See this article for details on some of the restrictions that eHarmony has for some of its free events.
OK…But What Does All This Mean to Me?
Well, I guess my first goal is to make you aware that this is happening if you weren’t already. My second recommendation is that you sign up for these services. Why? Well, I talk about the free events whenever I hear about one and you’re more than welcome to find out at this site if you want to keep coming back. However, when you sign up for these services they will actually email you when a free event is starting. Additionally, by signing up you’ll already have an account and when the free events arrive you won’t have to go through the process of taking the personality test (which can take some time).
Free Dating 365
In addition to these free events, sites like OKCupid are free all year round. There are other free services but this one is my personal favorite. Today, a lack of money doesn’t need to keep you from trying online dating. Whether it’s at the free events at Chemistry/eHarmony or just trying out a free service like OKCupid, there are plenty of opportunities to give it a try all year round.
Free events or online dating services won’t guarantee you’ll have success finding dating on their own, but it sure doesn’t hurt to give them a try!
