A Great Idea for Online Dating

Published on October 31, 2007

In my guide, I stress the importance of meeting anyone you are talking to online sooner rather than later. I make this recommendation based on the fact that I found my impressions that were created from talking to someone through email or on the phone were often very (very) wrong. In these cases, within the first few minutes of the date I would realize my mistake. In my opinion, actually meeting the person you are talking quickly to is a key to success because you are not allowing a “dead-end” to maintain you attention for longer than necessary.

With that kind of thinking in mind, I think the new service described here sounds like an excellent idea. The article describes a new dating service that mixes some elements of speed dating with some elements of online dating. Personally, I think meeting 15 people in an hour online would be a daunting task but I still love the idea. While I think of this as rather extreme I can’t deny the fact that I really loved the idea when I first read it. I think if there was a dating service out there that really pushed for its users to follow some type of schedule when meeting people, such as winks to email to video chat to a first date, a lot of bad dates could be avoided.
